Guys and gals,

Short update today. I’ve had a really long day.

The big news of the day comes out of Baton Rouge where the LSU Daily Reveille is reporting that North Texas officials confirmed that due to a shift in Hurricane Ike’s projected track in recent days that Saturday’s game will be played in Baton Rouge.

I don’t know about you guys, but this is a breathe of fresh air for me.

I know Baton Rouge got roughed up and this and that. But at some point we have to get back to normal. And LSU football on Saturday in the fall is normal for us. So it will be good to be back “in the thick of things” again.

I hope those of you who were affected by the storm have things patched up now to the point to where you will also be able to come out and enjoy the game, too!

This is not your older brother’s North Texas. By that, I mean they have shifted from their old option, run-oriented offensive attack to a more pass-happy attack.

It has not worked yet for the Mean Green, but their offense have been very good at times this season.

Giovanni Vizza is the Mean Green’s quarterback and has been solid this year, going 46-74 for 347 yards and 3 TDs and 0 INTs on the year.

The primary targets for Vizza are Casey Fitzgerald and Sam Dibrell who each have more than 10 catches in the team’s 2 games.

But the Mean Green’s problem has been on defense where they have given up more than 500 yards a game in their first two, including well more than 300 per game via the air.

What this means is Hatch and Lee will get a good chance to test their long balls and I suspect LSU will hang 42-63 on North Texas.

More on this game later in the week.

I know this was a very short update. But I’ve had a long day battling a mini head cold with school and such.

Have a great day tomorrow!
